I thought it was time that the Floating Sauna Lake Derby got its own write up! Considering it's fast becoming an unmissable addition to Tasmanian Tourism, I’m here to toot its horn a little louder!

Australia’s only floating wood-fired sauna, plucked straight from a Nordic dream. With a completely off-grid location, and stunning architectural design, The Floating Sauna is a perfect way to recentre and refresh. Spend time sweating it out in the sauna, before channelling your inner Wim Hof and taking a cold plunge into the freshwater Bresies Hole (AKA Lake Derby), rinse and repeat. You will leave your session feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle the rest of your day. The Floating Sauna is the most aesthetically pleasing sauna/cold plunge I’ve ever seen!

Park near the fire station and walk yourself across the suspension bridge to the sauna. The space can hold up to ten people, so spend your time sweating with strangers, or a bunch of mates, or if you’re feeling a little more indulgent book a private session and switch off completely!

Tassie’s steamy secret is equal parts wild and refined. Go for the scenery, stay for the feeling the Scandinavians have been chasing for centuries.
