Unyoked

Off grid cabins that offer a ‘prescription to nature’ for you to reset, relax, and recentre.

I stayed in ‘Tilda’ in Tasmania which unfortunately doesn’t exist anymore. The good news is, there are 86 other cabins to choose from Australia-wide, with more spanning the United Kingdom and New Zealand. You are spoilt for choice.

After booking, Unyoked send you a ‘Field Guide’ with instructions for your stay. With most sites, you park your car away from the cabin, collect a wheelbarrow for your belongings (pack light), and head off on foot for your off-grid getaway.

For my stay, Unyoked partnered with Tasmanian outdoor chef Sarah Glover, to fill your Field Guide with mouth-watering recipes for you to whip up on the fire. My favourite recipe from Sarah’s collection was the ‘Basil & Ricotta Pasta Shells with Fresh Tomatoes’, that I have recreated multiple times since my stay. View Sarah’s recipe here.

I stayed two nights solo in ‘Tilda’ and felt so grounded. I spent most of my time with my phone off, enjoying the view, drinking champagne, and cooking up a storm on the fire outside. If I ever become a hermit, a weekend getting Unyoked was my gateway drug.

Expect to stare, daydream, nap, walk, write, draw, read, and sit. A whole lot of not much. As Unyoked likes to call it - ‘an ancient remedy for modern times’.

Look around you and breathe deeply. There is nowhere else you need to be.

Stray beautiful,

BEAR.
