Little Crabtree

LITTLE CRABTREE

Little Crabtree is one of my ‘special stays’ - the kind of accommodation that you walk into and immediately regret not booking for longer. I stayed two nights, but I could have stayed two years. The tranquility of the space makes you feel like there is nowhere else you need to be.

Little Crabtree is small, making it the perfect place for a solo stay or a romantic getaway.

You’re hosted by Craig, who built this beautiful home for him and his daughter, before sharing it with the rest of us.

A non-negotiable for my dream home is a floor to ceiling window in the shower so I can spend time in the mornings looking at my gorgeous property (obviously - dream home.. duh). The fact that Little Crabtree has not one, but TWO in the bathroom made it very very hard to leave. The view spans the grassy hill that leads down to the bush.

Little Crabtree has a deck that captures the sunlight beautifully, I stayed in winter, so rugged up in a blanket and uggs, and ate every meal outside.

The Huon Valley surrounds Little Crabtree, including Willie Smith’s Apple Shed, where you get the best apple pie in the world. They do a takeaway slice that you can heat up yourself, its even close enough that if you also accept their offer of a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream in a takeaway coffee cup, it will only be a tiny bit melty by the time you get home! It’s as if Craig knew this - there is a perfect apple pie-sized skillet ready to warm her up!

I simultaneously hope that none of you book Little Crabtree, so I can save all the magic for myself, but that all of you book Little Crabtree so you can experience the magic for yourself. Either way, I won’t be mad.

Stray beautiful,

BEAR.
