PASSPORT TO GREECE - CORFU

Kalimera strays!

I was first introduced to the beauty of Greece back in 2018 when my gorgeous Greek girlfriend Maria and I decided to do a little island hopping! We travelled 4 Greek islands together, and I ticked off another 3 last year!

Passport to Greece is a three part series, enjoy part one!

CORFU

We stayed in Corfu for 6 nights!

EAT

Apovrado - A restaurant in Kommeno with water views. Mediterranean cuisine with loads of seafood, and the best baklava to ever touch my lips. We ended up here most nights for cheeky late night baklava!

Hear me out, there is a specific kind of Cheeto’s that I have only ever found in Greece. They come in a purple bag and are ??tomato?? flavour. It doesn’t even matter, get them. They are delish.

Any spanakopita from anywhere. It’s THAT good.

STAY

Angelos Seaview Studios in Kommeno, Corfu (link) and my oh my these views!!!

The apartment itself has minimal amenities, and the bathroom turns into a puddle every time you shower, but there is a fresh fruit market a short walk away, and as mentioned, unbeatable expansive water views.

Breakfast, lunch & dinner spent here

This Airbnb is wedged in between two luxury resorts, with two beaches to choose from! The beaches are nothing to write home about, but they’re perfect for an after dinner dip! Aprovado is a one minute walk from the apartment!

STRAY

We hired a car to zip to some beaches that were further afield! Some of the highlights being:

ROVINIA BEACH

This little gem is pretty popular among tourists, there is a canteen boat that parks itself in the cave, a ‘swim up for icecream’ type situation! The drive is pretty hairy - the scooter struggled to take us both back up the steep hill, so someone *cough cough me* got booted off the back and made to walk. Hardly passenger princess treatment!!

PORTO TIMONI

This double sided beauty is located on the northwest side of the island, near a little village called Afionas. Each side has different water temperatures, so you can pick your poison! Get here early if you want a spot, the space is small but the snorkelling is fruitful! The beach is only accessible by boat, or on foot! We walked, about 30 mins downhill. The way back up was hot and steep but so so worth it, treat yourself to a spanakopita with water views from the cafés in Afionas!

We didn’t make it to Pipitos Kassiopi but it’s on the wishlist, and directly translates to ‘small wild beach’, so it must be something spesh!

If you’re planning on adding Corfu to your travel itinerary, pop Paxos & Antipaxos on there too - they’re close!

Kalispera!

Stray beautiful,

BEAR.
