PASSPORT TO GREECE - PAXOS

Kalimera strays!

Passport to Greece part two has arrived! My favourite Greek Island so far! Paxos! 5 days in Paxos let us explore a good chunk of the beaches! If you’re looking for a sleepy beach holiday, stay longer!

PAXOS

EAT

Head down to the port, and I promise you will find delicious gyros. We LIVED off them. That, and jugs of wine and Aperol Spritz’s!!

STAY

Paxos Lemon Garden for glamping! Big bell tents next to the pool, with a shared kitchen. A fantastic way to meet people! The hosts were so kind, and even loaded us into the back of the ute one morning so we didn’t have to walk to the port with our packs!

STRAY

Hire a scooter and zip around! Live your Lizzie McGuire fantasy and make your boyfriend drive! This is what dreams are made of!

KAKI LAGADA BEACH

A spot that the locals love, a wholesome vibe and no walking required! One end of the beach is ‘organised’ (meaning brolly’s and beach chairs) while the other end is free! The fancy end has a little kiosk which we love! Pebbles not sand!

KLONI GOULI

Just around the corner from Kaki Lagada, this is a tiny little beach with the typical European umbrella set up!

MARMARI

A bit of a ride away, this beach has a walk through the olive trees to reach! A favourite for people to park their sail boats, it’s also home to beach cats!

EREMITIS

I was once again booted from the back of the scooter for this one! She’s steep but worth the trek. A secluded beach that hugs the cliff, with only a little space to go around! Definitely more of a ‘hidden gem’ than other Paxos beaches!

Eremitis

And finally, the crème de la crème - a boat trip around the island with Paxos Classic Cruises. Captain Sebastian (who also owns Casa di Sebastian) took us all around Paxos, showed us all of the hidden gems along the coastline, let us jump off the boat whenever we wanted, swam through caves, fed us Greek salad and BBQ food, pelted beers at us in the water from the boat. His playlist was immaculate. Timed to perfection with the arrival in each bay. He’s done this a few times! An intimate group as well, we knew everyone by morning tea time, ended up having dinner after the boat trip with some of the group, and still keep in touch with a few today!! Real travelling memories!

ANTIPAXOS

Antipaxos is getting a mention here because we didn’t stay, or eat, just stopped in for a few swims off the boat but good golly the beaches are stunning. Our Greek family friend Kyriakos reckons that the water is the clearest in all of Greece! In Kyri we trust (but more on that next time)!

Antipaxos

Kalispera!

Stray beautiful,

BEAR.
